Jannati: Iran ready to hold Tunisia Cultural Week

Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA – Minister of Culture and the Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati said on Tuesday that Tehran is ready to host Tunisia Cultural Week. He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Tunisian Minister of Trade and Handicrafts, Najla Harrouche. Tunisia cultural week will provide suitable opportunity for both nations and artists to become more acquainted with their cultural and historical arts, Jannati said. Jannati said that Iran and Tunisia have deep and excellent relations in various political, economic and cultural fields. The minister of culture and the Islamic guidance said that Tunisia has always been governed by rationality and wisdom throughout the history. Despite of existing unrest in north of Africa, Tunisia enjoys tranquility and stability, he said. Jannati expressed pleasure with the presidential election held in Tunisia and said that the elections proved that the Tunisian government has been successful to develop democracy in presence of political parties. Iran and Tunisia have very good and close relations in culture and arts, Jannati said. Both countries have many historical monuments and exchange of tourists will bring the two nations much closer, Jannati said. Iran has many invaluable handicrafts which will be of prime importance for foreign tourists giving a deep understanding of the countryˈs culture, he said. /end
