Japan’s Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo To Exhibit Japan’s Oldest Porcelain
KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- The Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo in Shinjuku will host the 37th Arita and Imari Porcelain Exhibition to introduce Japan’s oldest and richest porcelain tradition under the theme ‘Antique Porcelain in Contemporary Life’.
Held in collaboration with two antique art dealers, the Gallery Maesaka Seitendo and Tasaburo, the exhibition of Japan’s first produced porcelain will display art items representing Ko Imari style porcelain, including a special dinner table settings using Ko Imari style porcelain dishes.
According to Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo in a statement, special meals using Arita porcelain dishes will be served at restaurants and lounges within the hotel and also at nine of the hotel’s restaurants and lounges as part of the exhibition.
“We also endeavour to provide overseas visitors to our hotel with a taste of thoughtfully prepared Japanese style breakfast created by our Executive Chef Hiroshi Ichikawa in collaboration with food specialist Mackey Makimoto,” said the statement.
The annual exhibition, held from July 1 to Aug 2, is designed to show how the traditional art form is used in Japanese lifestyle and is part of the hotel’s Japanese cultural experience programme.
