Japan-ASEAN youth programme opening for application

BANGKOK, March 15 (TNA) – The Department of Children and Youth invites young people to participate in the Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) this year. Deputy Director-General of the Department of Children and Youth, Manit Maneetham said that the 50-day cruise will involve 330 youth from Japan and ASEAN countries. They will board Nippon Maru ship, which will set sail from Japan in October and will travel to dock at ASEAN countries. Exchange activities on board and at the countries to be visited will showcase the culture of each country and will promote friendship and mutual understanding among participants. Moreover, they will be given a chance to broaden their perspectives and improve their skills in international cooperation. Interested persons can see more information on the department’s website at www.dcy.go.th. Applicants will be selected by the written exam and interviews. One group leader and 28 persons, who pass the test, will undergo 13-day training before the programme starts in October. (TNA)
