Javanfekr: Ground Paved For Expanding Iran-Mexico Ties

Tehran, July 29, IRNA – President's Advisor for Press Affairs and IRNA Chief Ali Akbar Javanfekr said on Saturday that ground for expanding relations and cooperation between Iran-Mexico are well prepared.
Javanfekr made the remarks in a meeting with outgoing Mexican Ambassador to Tehran Carlos Tirado Zavala in Tehran on Saturday.
In the meeting, Javanfekr called for promotion of media cooperation between both countries adding that the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) is to establish a representative office in Mexico to broaden news cooperation between the two sides.
Referring to the growing cultural cooperation between the two countries, Javanfekr said that the Iranian students who are now studying at Mexican universities has helped broaden ties and cooperation between both sides.
Mexico is considered as a big and significant country which plays a leading role at regional and international level, he said, adding that Tehran attaches importance to expansion of relations with Mexico.
Zavala, for his part, said that grounds for expansion of all-out cooperation mainly in the cultural sector are prepared.
The large number of Iranian students studying in Mexico indicates that the cultural affinity between both sides is very profound, he said.
Both sides also lauded the close cooperation between the two states in the campaign against drug trafficking./end
