Jubilee of Zhambyl region
Taraz, September 22, 2009 (Khabar) - Residents of the Zhambyl region celebrate its 70th anniversary together with the President. As part of his two-day business trip to the region, Nursultan Nazarbayev is set to take part in the festive events and pay visits to greenhouses, a new school and a cold storage facility. It is considered Zhambyl region was founded in 1939 when the region obtained today’s boundaries and status. The region always impressed the whole country with its achievements in chemical industry. But this time the President visited not large industrial enterprises, but farms and greenhouses, which develop well despite crisis. This greenhouse grows indoor flowers Verbena, stachis, salvia and their seeds are taken from Germany. Income from flower business is $2 millions per year and employees of the greenhouse have felt great enthusiasm after the visit of President of RK.
Zhumagul Omarova, an entrepreneur:
- I like my job very much and I am happy being a Kazakh and to live in Kazakhstan. We can be proud of our President for his great affairs.
And this greenhouse grows vegetables without heating and lighting. Unique technology of using of Sun energy allows to grow vegetables even in winter. One greenhouse gives a crop of about 8 tons of tomatoes and the main peculiarity of such constructions is cheap price of objects.
Aidar Taukenov, agronomist:
- Vegetables and fruits that are grown here are of better quality and can be kept for a longer time. And the main is that all vegetables and fruits are grown without chemicals.
Kairat Medeuov, head of greenhouse:
- Support of the state is felt very much and I received 112 million tenge for construction of greenhouses without percents. It is a noticeable assistance.
After inspecting these facilities, Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived at the Balasagun Concert Hall to personally congratulate the region’s residents on its anniversary.

- This land has for many centuries been a special place for the Kazakh nation. This is why today we are celebrating the date of the establishment of the region and all the achievements of your land as well as its glorious history. I want to congratulate all the residents of the region on the anniversary. Let the Zhambyl region become stronger with our country. Let all families in Kazakhstan become wealthy.
Speaking at a ceremonial meeting, the head of state especially pointed out that today the country is readying for the post-crisis stage of development. He added that Zhambyl region residents have to contribute to this as well. The region has everything needed to do this – peace, inter-ethnic and inter-religious accord and people’s unity.
Fyodor Klimenko, chairman, Ukrainian National and Cultural centre in Zhambyl region:
- I am overwhelmed with feelings now. Today, a world-respected person, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has arrived in our city. He found time to come here and congratulate all Taraz and Zhambyl region residents on the 70th anniversary of our region.

- The Zhambyl region is celebrating two holidays today – its 70th anniversary and the arrival of the head of state, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The President also became acquainted with the implementation of the Road Map programme in the Zhambyl region. Thanks to this project, 16 thousand people have received new jobs.
