Keenness on deepening cooperation with parliament hailed

Manama, Jan 23 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has affirmed the Shura Council’s commitment to working with the Council of Representatives and the government to implement important projects and give them top priority so as to expedite their completion, particularly the draft law on the state budget for 2017-2018. This is in line with a common vision based on prioritising national interests and preserving the kingdom’s economic gains, in accordance with the sound directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to ensure that procedures to rationalise public expenditure are based on consensus between the Executive and the Legislature, and should take the interests of the medium and low income citizens into account. Al Saleh praised His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s keenness to deepen cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches in a way that serves national issues and the interests of the citizens. He pointed out that the meeting with HRH Premier today aimed to achieve the kingdom’s progress and prosperity, consolidate the democratic process and push the development march forward to bring about more gains to the nation. Executive-Legislature is the best means to ensure the kingdom’s success in overcoming the current conditions and challenges, he said, adding that the state budget has been prepared based on agreed upon bases and principles, and according to the real and basic needs.
