Khalid bin Hamad to patronise National Day Festival for People with Disabilities

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): Under the kind patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF), and with support from Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), the BDSF will organize a National Day Festival for People with Disabilities Sports from December 9 -11. The BDSF aims to organize this festival to coincide with the Kingdom’s National Day celebrations to open a way for athletes to enjoy competing, whether they are from national teams or those who were discovered through federation's talent discovery programme. The festival event schedule will include Wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, Bocce, Badminton, Paralympics mind games and is expected to have participation of more than 120 athletes. On this part, Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa, BDSF Board President, gave his sincere thanks to HH Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honourary President of the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, for His Highness's kind sponsorship to the National Day Festival for People with Disabilities Sports, highlighting that His Highness is always keen on supporting the activities of His Highness' brothers with disabilities. He pointed out the that BDSF is keen on holding programmes and events that aim to develop people with disabilities in sports, as many of the activities scheduled will receive wide participation, and this comes as part of the plans, activities and strategies which are in line with the vision of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports headed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa
