Khalid bin Hamad to patronize festival ceremony 0

Manama, Dec.2, (BNA) His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, (President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honourary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, urged for an increase in the amount of prize money and bonuses awarded to winners of his Youth Theatre Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centers and people with disabilities, which held its second edition from November 15th to 27th, 2016 organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Media Office of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. These directives came from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s in recognition of the major role played by the participants in enriching the art of theater among youth, especially given the overwhelming response the Festival received from both, participants and audience. His Highness also asserted that what the Bahraini youth had presented in the festival’s activities reflects their great creativity, pointing out that an increase in bonuses and prizes for participants come as recognition and encouragement for youth and to contribute more to the advancement and growth of the Kingdom, as per the implementation of the directives of His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, may God bless and protect him. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: "Our goal is to continue our support of Bahraini youth, with the belief that they are the driving engine of the growth and progress of this country. Young people have become prominent in various fields, particularly art and theater, and this reflects the positive energy possessed by them, as well as their capacity for creative potential, which contributes to the continuation of comprehensive development in any field they work in.” The establishment of the festival comes within His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s cultural initiatives, as His Highness is keen to sponsor this festival in support of the cultural field for youth through theatrical events that witness wide participation from Bahraini youth. The festival’s closing ceremony will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in the Isa Town Cultural and Sports Hall on Saturday, December 3rd, and will feature several segments, in addition to participants and winners being presented their awards. It is worth mentioning that the festival, which was held this year under the slogan "#painting_a_smile" at the Isa Town Cultural and Sports hall, witnessed the participation of 12 teams, representing a mixture of national clubs and youth centers and the people with disabilities. It was sponsored by 14 companies, which include: Tamkeen, Batelco, BANAGAS, Coca Cola, Al Hawaj, GPIC, Majestic Cars, Economic Development Board, Bapco, Palace Enterprises, Gulf University, Nissan, Yousif bin Ahmed Kanoo and Gadooa.
