KHAN BANK EMPLOYEES IMPLEMENT KHAN BANK FOREST PROGRAM
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Under the motto “Plant Trees and Protect Nature", Khan Bank’s employees planted attractive bird-cherry trees with white flowers which bloom every spring, at the National Park on May 16, 2015.
The bank’s website published the news on Tuesday.
For the purpose of fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and creating green facilities, Khan Bank has been implementing the Khan Bank Forest program since 2008. In the scope of this program, the bank has planted more than 15,700 trees both in the capital city and in rural areas, and has made great contributions to the country’s green facilities to create a healthy and safe environment for individuals and children in which to live.
In parallel with the Khan Bank Forest program implemented every year and the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Principles, the effort to plant trees throughout the country is organized within the framework of supporting environmentally-friendly, environmental protection and rehabilitation initiatives.
On their own initiatives, Khan Bank employees of urban branches planted 100 bird-cherry trees at the National Park, which is a specially-protected zone of the capital city. The National Park is located at the Tuul River basin and contains 60% of the underground pure water reserves of Ulaanbaatar. Thus, planting trees in this zone is a great contribution to preserving the eco-balance and creating green facilities in the capital city.
