Khawla Matar’s appointment as Deputy Special Envoy for Syria welcomed

Manama, Mar.14 (BNA ):The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the announcement made by the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres on the appointment of Ms. Khawla Matar as Deputy Special Envoy for Syria as indicative that the Kingdom of Bahrain possess national competencies capable of making tangible contributions at both regional and international levels. Whilst affirming that the appointment indicates to what extent the international community has confidence in the expertise and capabilities of Ms. Khawla Matar, the Ministry vows to support her to carry out her mission and advance the ongoing efforts to reach a political settlement that will ensure the stability, national unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic as well as its security, development and prosperity.
