King attends Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019

Manama, Mar. 14 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today attended the opening of the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 held at the Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, UAE, with the participation of more than 7500 athletes of 192 countries, among of them Bahraini athletes.
HM the King was welcomed upon arrival at the Zayed Sport City Stadium by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai and HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
HM the King and HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum exchanged views on topics of joint interests and regional developments.
HM the King, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan along with UAE senior officials attended the opening ceremony that included the sport parade, raising the Olympic flag and lighting the Olympic torch to mark the start of the tournament.
HM the King was farewelled by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and UAE senior officials.
HM the King expressed delight in attending the opening ceremony, noting the role of sport in disseminating the values of peace, friendship and harmony among peoples of the world.
HM the King praised the organizational efforts that reflected the UAE huge preparation for staging sport forums, wishing Bahrain's sport delegation and other delegations success.
HM the King congratulated HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the success of the event and expressed appreciation of their invitation.
HM the King also expressed appreciation of the United Arab Emirates supportive stances toward the Kingdom of Bahrain, which highlight the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and their people.
