King hails Bahrain-US relations

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received at Al-Sakhir Palace, retired General Anthony Zinni, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs in the Near East Bureau at the U.S. Department of State, Timothy Lenderking, who arrived in Bahrain as part of a regional tour. HM the King welcomed retired Gen. Zinni and Lenderking and reviewed with them solid historic relations between the two friendly countries and ways of further strengthening joint ties in all fields. He hailed the solid partnership and sustained coordination between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, lauding steadily-growing cooperation in all fields. He commended the US dedicated efforts and pivotal role in maintaining the pillars of global security, stability and peace, affirming Bahrain’s support. HM the King said that the settlement of the Qatari crisis lies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The two sides discussed regional and international developments and exchanged viewpoints regarding issues of mutual interest. Gen. Zinni and Lenderking paid tribute to HM the King, hailing royal keenness on bolstering Bahrain-US relations and promoting aspects of friendship and joint cooperation.
