King hails historic Bahraini-British relations

Manama, Nov. 8 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received His Royal Highness Prince Charles, UK Crown Prince, Prince of Wales, and his wife Her Royal Highness Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. HRH The Prince of Wales conveyed to HM the King greetings and appreciation from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further development, progress and prosperity. HM the King welcomed HRH Prince Charles on his visit to Bahrain and extended greetings to HM Queen Elizabeth II, wishing her abundant health and happiness. HM the King hailed deep-rooted bilateral relations built over more than two hundred years on solid foundations, shared determination and mutual interests. He commended the important role of HRH Prince Charles as well as his dedicated efforts to support and consolidate Bahraini-British relations and expand joint cooperation. HM the King took pride in the positive results of his recent successful visit to the UK, hailing his fruitful meetings with HM Queen Elizabeth and British Prime Minister Theresa May which, he said, would bolster bilateral relations. The King lauded the vital role of the British community and its multi-faceted years-long contribution to Bahrain's development and progress in all sectors, adding that they are always most welcome in the Kingdom. HM the King and HRH Prince Charles reviewed ways of developing joint cooperation and consolidating the prospects of joint work towards serving the interests of the two friendly peoples. Regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest were also discussed. HRH Prince Charles expressed his delight at visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain and meeting HM the King. He thanked the King for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality, hailing his role and keenness on bolstering deep-rooted historic relations between the two friendly kingdoms. HM the King hosted a dinner banquet at Al-Rawdha Palace in honour of HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH the Duchess of Cornwall, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women. Also present were HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Hamad bin Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa and Bahrain Ambassador to the UK Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa.
