King honours UK prime minister

Manama, Dec. 7 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received, at the Al-Sakhir Palace today, the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May who attend the 37th GCC Summit in Bahrain. HM King Hamad welcomed the distinguished guest, and affirmed the solid long-standing relations between the friendly countries that are growing steadily in all fields. HM the King said that the visit of Prime Minister May to Bahrain is an assertion of the existing cooperation between GCC countries and the United Kingdom, noting that joint relations will be strengthened with more cooperation which, he said, will serve the aspirations and ambitions of the two sides. HM King Hamad bestowed the Ahmed Al-Fateh Medal on the UK Prime Minister in recognition of her efforts to develop relations between the two friendly countries. May expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King for the generous welcome and gracious hospitality accorded to her throughout her visit to the kingdom, saying that she had been delighted to take part in the 37th GCC Summit. HM King Hamad hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the UK Prime Minister.
