King meets AGU President, hails Saudi stances

Manama, Sep. 28 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa commended deep-rooted historic relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, hailing steadily-growing joint cooperation in all fields.
HM the King lauded the honourable stances of Saudi Arabia, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud in support of Bahrain, epitomizing strong fraternal relations and common destiny between the two countries.
He received at Al-Sakhir Palace Arabian Gulf University (AGU) President Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali, who presented the designs of the King Abdulla Medical City, a landmark project which is planned to start at the beginning of the year 2017.
Dr. Al-Ohali updated HM the King on the designs which were drawn up by Bahraini, Saudi and GCC competences, along with a Bahraini-Saudi team of experts.
He highlighted the directive of late King Abdulla bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud to allocate SR1 billion to construct the medical city as a subsidiary of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) – a gift from the Saudi people to the people of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Ohali expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King for giving directives to allocate a strategically-located land plot to construct the medical milestone, which would boost the health system in Bahrain.
HM the King hailed the initiative of the late Saudi leader, hailing the milestone which reflects solid Bahraini-Saudi relations as well as strong bonds of fraternity and amity between the two brotherly countries and peoples.
He commended the dedicated efforts of AGU officials to start work on the medical milestone, which will serve as an educational and health beacon to purvey therapeutic services for the citizens of Bahrain and other GCC countries.
“Bahrain will continue supporting the Arabian Gulf University which formed forth since its inception, generations that contributed to the development and progress of the GCC states”, HM the King said.
HM the King commended the AGU pivotal role, as a landmark academic beacon, hailing its medical and scientific achievements and successes, thus earning an advanced status among Arab and international universities.
