King, Premier, Crown Prince congratulated by GCC chief

Manama, Nov. 24 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)’s Secretary-general Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani expressed utmost congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s people on Bahrain's presently ongoing parliamentary and municipal election process that comes to attest to the keenness of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on consolidating the principles of freedom, equality and partnership confirmed by His Majesty’s reforms. The GCC chief told Bahrain News Agency (BNA): that the participation in the elections is the citizen’s inalienable right ensured by the Constitution, it is a national duty and responsibility of all citizens to choose their representatives in the Council of Representatives and municipal councils, involving the citizens in the Kingdom’s decision-making process, prosperity and progress towards its goals. Dr. Al Zayani added that the present democratic atmospheres, elected chambers, popular interaction and media presence mirror the heightened awareness characteristic of the Bahraini people and their sense of national responsibility, and affirm the Kingdom of Bahrain’s people are confidently and surely on the right track towards the bright future. He commended the organizational steps taken by the concerned agencies, the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Justice to ensure the serene, positive elections process. He said the popular participation in the election process attests to the Bahraini people’s high sense of national duty, awareness about the importance of the democratic practice in order to achieve more progress, prosperity and elevation in the Kingdom. He expressed pride in the Bahraini people’s perpetual traits of loyalty, perseverance and resolve to carry on the democratic and civilisational progress in the Kingdom.
