Korea’s Foreign Minister commends Bahrain for promoting peace, prosperity in the region

Manama, Dec, 4 (BNA): The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Kang Kyung-hwa has commended Bahrain for hosting the Manama Dialogue, saying it is an extraordinary occasion to discuss the Covid-19 pandemic and its threats to the world’s security and economy.
The minister also commended Bahrain’s latest push for a new age of peace and prosperity in the region.
She also stressed the commitment of her country as a key partner to working with Bahrain.
“I am delighted to be the first Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea to participate in the IISS Manama Dialogue,” Kang Kyung-hwa told Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
“I highly commend the decision by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the IISS to host an actual offline forum to discuss a timely topic, the Covid-19 pandemic, which is threatening the fabric of security and economy of the World. This 16th Manama Dialogue is an extraordinary occasion to discuss this big challenge and to reaffirm our commitment to and support for the global governance in the wake of the Covid-19.
“I also welcome Bahrain’s efforts for a new age of peace and prosperity. The Korean government welcomes the Abraham Accords and the Declaration of Supporting Peace. Along with this agreement, Bahrain’s economic initiative for the post-oil era will surely usher in an era of peace and prosperity to the region.”
Kang Kyung-hwa said that “Korea, as a key partner, will remain committed to work with Bahrain.”
Kang Kyung-hwa was Senior Advisor on Policy to the United Nations Secretary-General before she was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in June 2017.
