KP1M To Bring 40 Tonnes Of Foodstuff And Medicines To Gaza

SEPANG (Malaysia), Aug 7 (Bernama) -- Kelab Putera 1Malaysia (KP1M) will bring along 40 tonnes of foodstuff, medicines and other necessities to Gaza in its humanitarian aid mission to assist the Palestinians suffering from Israeli atrocities.
Club president Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said 20 tonnes of the items would be brought from Malaysia while the rest would be bought in Egypt.
"The first team of eight volunteers is leaving on the mission today (Wednesday) to survey the needs of the Palestinians there (Gaza) before the next team arrives.
"Besides that, a special Malaysian camp will be set up at the Rafah border crossing in Egypt to act as a one-stop centre before the aid is distributed to the Palestinians in Gaza," he said when met at the sending-off of the first team to Egypt from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, here, Wednesday.
Abdul Azeez (front, third from right) said the first team also brought along three tonnes of foodstuff and medicines for the Palestinians.
He said the 15-day KP1M humanitarian aid mission involved 65 people, including 35 doctors while the rest were other volunteers and media representatives.
According to him, the second team would leave on Aug 9 with four tonnes of aid items and the rest on Aug 12 with 13 tonnes of the same items.
"Hence, we hope that Malaysians regardless of their race, religion and political belief would pray for this humanitarian mission to Gaza to be smooth and successful.
"If there's no problem, this mission will end on Aug 19 and we will leave for home after its success," he said.
Abdul Azeez said the club also planned to bring to Malaysia, 100 injured Palestinian children for follow-up medical treatment.
"However, this will depend on the law and permission of the parties concerned in Gaza," he added. (photoBERNAMA)
