KPK Questions Golkar Lawmaker On Bribery Case In ESDM Ministry

Jakarta, Jan 20 (Antara) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned a lawmaker from Golkar party Zainudin Amali on alleged bribery involving high ranking official at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), here on Monday. "Zainudin is being questioned as witness for suspect, former Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry with the initial WK," KPK`s Chief of Information Division Priharsa Nugraha stated here on Monday. Earlier, officials from the anti graft commission had searched in 13 places including the suspect WK`s house, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, office of lawmakers from Democrat party Sutan Bhatoegana and Tri Yulianto, and the office of Golkar and Democrat party at the House of Representatives` building. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named WK, the Secretary General of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, as a suspect after broadening its investigations of a bribery case involving former chief of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) with the initial RR. RR was named as a suspect for allegedly accepting a bribe of US$400 thousand from the commissioner of PT Kernel Oil Private Limited, SGT, through his golf trainer. RR was arrested at his house in Jl, Brawijaya, South Jakarta, on Aug. 13.
