KSA Condemns and Denounces Terrorist Attacks inside Iraq

Riyadh, December 31, 2019, SPA -- An official source stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has followed with great concern the increase of terrorist attacks inside brotherly Iraq that aimed at undermining its security and stability, the most recent of which were attacks by terrorist militias supported by Iranian regime against US forces present in Iraq within the international coalition to confront the terrorist organization ISIS at the invitation from the Iraqi government, and resulted casualties and injuries among the Iraqi security forces, and also the latest of which was the attack that targeted an Iraqi base near Kirkuk with more than (30) Katyusha rockets on December 27, 2019, and resulted in the death of an American citizen and the injury of two Iraqi forces and four US forces, which led to take defensive measures against the terrorist organizations carried out this attack. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces these terrorist attacks, and to confirm that these attacks commited by terrorist militias violate the sovereignty of Iraq and affect its security and stability and directly affect the efforts to combat terrorism, which necessitates supporting the cooperation efforts between the Iraqi government and the US-led international coalition forces through the investigation in the incident of December 27, take appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of hostilities supported by the Iranian regime. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia calls for concerted all sincere efforts to preserve the security and stability of Iraq. -- SPA
