      Kuwaiti Educational Delegation Praises Qatar's Experience in Educational Development

Doha, July 02 (QNA) - A high-level educational delegation from Kuwait, headed by Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Education Sector at the Ministry of Education in the State of Kuwait Osama Hussein Sultan Najim concluded a visit to the State of Qatar, during which he was briefed on the Qatari experience in the field of public education development.
	The Kuwaiti delegation met with senior officials in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and visited some educational institutions, to learn about the experiences and best practices in force in the field of education development in the State of Qatar.
   	In a press statement, the head of the Kuwaiti educational delegation praised the Qatari experience in the field of education development, stressing that Qatar has achieved tangible successes and a great leap in the development of education, placing it in an advanced rank among international classifications in the field of education quality. He added that the current visit to the State of Qatar came with the aim of reviewing this rich experience, studying the prospects for cooperation between Kuwait and Qatar in the educational aspect, and considering how to benefit from it.
   	He attributed the quality of education in Qatar to several reasons, such as the use of modern and advanced technological methods that affected the educational process, in addition to its interest in the learner's needs, desires and tendencies, providing an attractive educational environment, adopting diversification of educational paths, attracting specialized and international schools and their role in raising the learner's receiving efficiency, in addition to Qatar’s interest in national identity and its keenness to develop the spirit of scientific research among learners, and its use of local and international experiences in developing curricula and its integration with technological progress, and assigning local and international capabilities and competencies.
   	He also stressed that the prospects for cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait in the fields of education stem from the strength of the distinguished historical relations between the two countries, and from customs, traditions, religion, common values and continuous coordination with regard to curricula, especially scientific ones, benefiting from Qatar’s experience in technical, vocational and specialized education, in addition to the convergence of the strategic vision in developing human capital, and exchanging experiences in the educational fields, especially school management systems and the school environment, in addition to the common interest in the process of teachers training, development and raising their efficiency.
   	During the visit, the Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the quality indicators of education in Qatar. Assistant Undersecretary for evaluation affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Khalid Abdullah Al Harqan gave an explanation about the system for measuring the quality of students’ academic achievement, and the system for assessing the quality of school performance in schools and kindergartens. In addition to an explanation of the comprehensive educational survey.
   	The delegation was also learned about Qatar's experience in the educational curriculum development project, and in the field of technical and vocational education and the advantages offered to students of specialized schools, namely technical and banking schools. It was also briefed on the Qatari experience with regard to early education policy, and the school readiness test that is applied in the preparatory stage to measure the readiness of pre-school students to join the first grade, in addition to the experience of the Training and Educational Development Center, learning about its objectives and the quality of training and educational development programs in force in Qatar and how to benefit from them in the Kuwaiti education sector.
   	The delegation met with the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdul Aziz Al Naama, Director of Private Schools Affairs Rashid Ahmed Al Ameri, and a number of officials of the private education affairs sector in the Ministry, where they learned about the tasks and responsibilities undertaken by the sector, and the procedures followed in obtaining licenses for the establishment of private educational institutions, including schools, kindergartens, educational and training centers, in addition to nurseries, and the mechanism of supervising and following up on them from an academic and administrative point of view.
