Kuwaiti gallery showcases mini sculptures by Tanavoli and students

TEHRAN,Dec.22(MNA) -- The Dar Al Funoon Gallery in Kuwait is currently hosting an exhibition of mini sculptures by Parviz Tanavoli and his students.
Entitled “Sculptures You Can Wear”, the showcase displays about 100 figurines.
Anahita Anasari, Atena Akhavan, Azadeh Tabiban, Farish Alborkzuh, Hosna Arbabi, Leili Taheri, Mahrooz Beladi, Mahsa Kheirkhah and Maryam Tabaei are among the artists whose works are on display at the gallery.
The figurines feature ancient Persian designs that date back to the 13th and 14th centuries. Some works from Tanavoli’s Heech collection are also on display at the exhibit, which began on December 17.
Tanavoli is mostly famous for his collection of Heech, which depicts the Persian word “heech” (nil). One of his works from this series is on display at the British Museum.
The website of the gallery described Tanavoli as one of the most successful artists of the Middle East who is also an influential teacher and has generously shared his knowledge and craft with a young generation of eager students.
