Kyrgyzstan sends aid to Turkish quake zone

BISHKEK (A.A) – October 30, 2011 - The Kyrgyz government extended humanitarian aid to survivors of last week's devastating earthquake in the eastern Turkish province of Van on Sunday. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations sent 31 tons of humanitarian aid for quake survivors. The cargo plane took off from Bishkek. The aid included blankets, dried beans, sugar, flour, water and winter clothes. A 7.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Van last Sunday, killing at least 582 and injuring 4,152 others.
