Labour minister honours gold medalist

Manama, Oct. 9 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has honoured Bahraini gold medalist Fatima Abdulrazzaq Safar in the presence of the ministry's Undersecretary for Social Development Hanan Mohammed Kamal and members of the High Committee of Paralympic Affairs. The minister said Bahrain is proud of the accomplishments and success stories of its sportspeople at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio, Brazil. He said these feats were harmonious with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting handicapped sportspeople and paving the way for them to join all fields and their inclusion in the community. He added that such excellence and winning translates the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister regarding the essential joint work on the part of public and private institutions to uplift and include the disabled in all walks of life and jobs in the labour market. Safar expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Minister Humaidan for his outstanding efforts exerted to achieve the necessary welfare and the provision of special services as well as the initiatives which uplift the standard of handicapped persons and their inclusion in the society.
