Labour minister meets Sudanese delegation

Manama, Jan.20 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received Sudan Workers Trade Unions Federation (SWTUF) Secretary-General Youssef Abdulkarim and the accompanying delegation. The minister outlined the prospects of independent trade union work which enjoys the support of the wise leadership in Bahrain, hailing its crucial role in consolidating labour gains and promoting dialogue and professional stability. “Bahrain has earned the trust of international intuitions, particularly the Arab Labour Organisation (ALO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO)”, he said. He shed light on Bahrain’s strides, citing in particular the labour market reforms and the drive to cement community partnership and the principles of dialogue. Humaidan briefed the SWTUF delegation on Bahrain’s upgraded national legislations, stressing the decree law 33 of 2002 on the labour trade unions. SWTUF Secretary-General commended Bahrain’s strides, urging more cooperation between the Arab trade unions towards achieving a growing and prosperous work environment.
