Labour Ministry stages activities marking National Sport Day

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan today patronized the sport activities held by the ministry in implementation of directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to allocate half working day for sports activities to celebrate the National Sport Day. The events comprised sport activities and sport and health awareness sessions. The ministry also participated in the sport village activities and staged an exhibition of productive families' product. The minister lauded HRH Premier's directives on allocating February 7 to celebrate the National Sport Day which highlight his interest in promoting the concept of sport for all and raising awareness of the significance of sport among the community. He praised the support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sport (SCYS) also president of Bahrain Olympic Committee. He also lauded keenness of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS' First Deputy Chairman also Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities, on promoting sport and social activities in general and programmes for people with disabilities in particular.
