Language policy realization
Astana, October 22, 2009 (Khabar) - Language policy realization as a process of state system consolidation is deeply connected with national integrity of society.
The created as much as possible favorable conditions for studying of the state Kazakh language completely promote the interethnic consent. And consequently country leaders tactics in this question causes genuine interest and respect of the world community, gets the increasing of political and ideological importance.
Myrzatay Zholdasbekov, director of President’s Cultural Centre:
- I support the State Secretary Kanat Bekmyrzayevich Saudabayev that the Office of Prosecutor, Culture Ministry, and National Security Committee should observe and control the implementation of language law. The state does everything. Budget means for state language development are allocated, and the other depends on us.
Akim Tarazi, writer:
- Census of 1989 showed that there were 4 per cent of Kazakhs who don’t know their native language. According to the last census there are 2 per cent of Kazakhs who don’t speak on their native language. This is a big progress. State Secretary has started to demand Kazakh language as a primary, basic, and the translations during conferences should be done not from Russian to Kazakh, but vice versa. And all the official documents should be written in Kazakh. I was waiting for this a long time.
