Lao PDR, Thailand cabinets meet

CHIANG MAI (THAILAND), May 19 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Lao counterpart Thongsing Thammavong chaired the 2nd Joint Thai-Lao Cabinet Retreat on Sunday in the northern Thai capital of Chiang Mai, eyeing on border security cooperation and human trafficking. Among other issues raised at the meeting include political and security cooperation, joint survey for border demarcation, narcotics and the progress of the single-visa scheme, aimed to promote joint tourism. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Thailand-Lao friendship ties. Meanwhile, Miss Yingluck will hold talks with South Korean Prime Minister and Head of the Asian Development Bank Sunday afternoon, on the side of the second Asia-Pacific Water Summit in Chiang Mai.
