Lausanne format participants working on Syria document - Russian envoy

SOCHI, October 25. /TASS/. Military experts representing countries of the Lausanne format have prepared a working document on Syria, Russian presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Tuesday. "After the completion of the Lausanne-format talks at the level of foreign ministers, military experts have prepared a working document that relates to a set of issues for settling the situation in Aleppo," the Russian diplomat said. "In the follow-up of the discussion held at the ministerial level, the experts received an assignment from the ministers to specify some issues, including the withdrawal of [Jabhat] al-Nusra, the separation of moderate opposition from terrorist organizations, humanitarian corridors and the ceasefire," he added. "This document is in the capitals at the minsters’ consideration," Bogdanov said. "We hope that it will be possible to finally agree it," the Russian diplomat said. The deputy foreign minister also said that the substance of the document had been discussed on Monday during a telephone talk between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry.
