Leadership congratulated by Information Minister on NAC anniversary

Manama, Feb. 13 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Chairman of Bahrain Institute for Political Development, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, today affirmed that the launch of the National Action Charter (NAC) by a royal will and a national consensus of 98.4% is a historic push forward with the establishment of the rule of law and institutions and political and constitutional reforms led by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister extended utmost congratulations to HM the King, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and the people of Bahrain on the 16th anniversary of the National Action Charter and the inauguration of the constitutional monarchy based on justice, equality in rights and duties and without discrimination on the grounds of religion, creed, ethnicity or gender.
He paid tribute to the national consensus that have welcomed the royal reforms and democratic approach and reinforced national unity to counter terrorism, extremism and foreign interference. He took pride in the concerted national efforts aimed at protecting the national achievements under the umbrella of the modern national civil state that enjoys political stability, economic prosperity and social security in the context of an active parliamentary experience and the independence of the judiciary power.
He pointed out Bahrain's democratic model based on solid constitutional rules under the rule of law, protection of human rights and the establishment of institutions supporting rights and freedoms, including the National Institution for Human Rights, Ombudsman Office, Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission, Special Investigation Unit of Public Prosecutions.
He commended the role of the Supreme Council for women chaired by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, in promoting women's participation in political, economic and social fields.
He noted the press and media freedom as a milestone achievement accomplished since the launch of the National Action Charter.
He hailed the efforts of security agencies and Bahrain Defense Force in maintaining the homeland's security and stability and their contributions to bringing further national achievements in all areas.
He emphasized Bahrain's keenness on maintaining regional and international peace and stability through bolstering GCC unity and integration, noting Bahrain's efforts in championing just Arab and Islamic causes, consolidating regional and international peace efforts and defending principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
