The Lebanese Foreign Minister Appreciates Iraq's Supportive Stance For His Country

Baghdad / NINA / - Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met with his Lebanese counterpart Abdullah Bou Habib, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the 157th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers, which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. A statement by the ministry stated: The Lebanese Foreign Minister expressed his thanks and gratitude to Iraq for all the support it provided and for standing by Lebanon in the adversity and difficult economic conditions it went through. Hussein congratulated the Republic of Lebanon on its presidency of the Council of the League of Arab States in its current session (157), wishing the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs all success in performing his duties in the service of joint Arab action. The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to find appropriate mechanisms for their development. The two sides also discussed the most important issues that the region is going through at the regional and international levels, and the need to take a unified Arab position to confront these challenges. / End
