Malaysia: 1,000 Fire And Rescue Personnel On Kl SEA Games Duty

SEREMBAN (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia), July 12 (Bernama) -- About 1,000 fire and rescue personnel will be deployed during the SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur next month to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. Fire and Rescue Department director-general Wira Wan Mohd Nor Ibrahim said his department would be involved directly in the bi-annual sports event, playing several important roles. "The main role of the department is to ensure the safety of the participants from the contesting countries, and we will also be at the competition venues with spectators, focusing on the safety aspects," he told reporters at the 2017 Negeri Sembilan Fire Department Aidilfitri event here Tuesday night.
