Malaysia To Co-Host Going Global Education Conference Next Year

KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has been given the honour to co-host the Going Global 2018 conference with the British Council in Kuala Lumpur from May 2 to 4 next year. Going Global is a British Council’s world leading international education conference attracting governments, ministers, policy makers and senior education leaders from across the world, and it is the largest open forum to debate international higher education issues and challenges. “Malaysia is the first country in ASEAN to be chosen as the venue of Going Global conference and this is an acknowledgement of the Higher Education Ministry efforts,” said Ministry of Higher Education secretary-general Dr Noorul Ainur Mohd Nur, who represented Malaysia at the closing session of Going Global 2017 in London, in a statement Friday. She added that the Going Global 2018 conference would also provide a platform for higher education experts, practitioners and stakeholders on how best to work together to respond to the changing higher education landscape and in support of economic and social developments. More than 1,000 delegates from over 80 countries attended this year’s conference in London from May 22 to 24, themed “Global Cities: Connecting Talent, Driving Change”.
