Malaysia Conveys Condolences Over Myanmar Military Aircraft Crash

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia is deeply saddened over the crash of a Myanmar military aircraft in the Andaman Sea near the Thanintharyi Region on June 7. "Malaysia extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, especially the bereaved family members on the loss of their loved ones,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement today. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families during this period of mourning,” it said. The aircraft which was carrying 122 people crashed into the Andaman Sea while flying over the town of Myeik in southern Myanmar. It was heading towards Yangon. There has been no reports of survivors. To date, 31 bodies of the victims have been recovered. -- BERNAMA
