Malaysia-Indonesia Army Commanders Discuss Border Security

LIMBANG (Sarawak, Malaysia), June 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian First Infantry Division commander Major General Stephen Mundaw has met and discussed with Indonesian National Army’s (TNI) Mulawarman Military District Command chief Major General Sonhadji, about border security issues during his working visit to Pos Ba’Kelalan here. Among the subjects discussed were efforts to strengthen ties between the two armies to ensure security at border areas. Stephen also congratulated Sonhadji on his new appointment as Mulawarman Military District Command chief to replace Major General Johny Lumban Tobing on March 7. The visit was aimed at observing the Malaysian army operation and to hand over Raya goodies to the army personnel in the area.
