Malaysia #Quranhour Can Trigger Wave Of Love For The Quran - MTMZA Grand Imam

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), June 2 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia #QuranHour programme which will take place on June 19 or the 24th of Ramadan at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque (MTMZA) here will trigger a wave of love for the Quran among the people, says MTMZA's grand imam Ehsan Mohd Hosni. He said the hour-long programme which would begin at noon was also believed to have a positive impact on the culture of reading Al-Quran, especially in terms of taking out some time for the holy book. "We hope this programme will create an impact where Muslims will find time from their busy schedule to interact with the Quran, to appreciate and practise (reading it). Themed "Courteous and Loving Community", the programme which enters its second year is being organised by Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (a non-governmental organisation under the patronage of Kumpulan Media Karangkraf which centred on Al-Quran and education) and Karangkraf Media Group (a Malaysia’s dominant book publisher and printer) with cooperation from MTMZA and Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM). Ehsan said efforts to promote the programme which is targeting at least 2,000 participants was in place and he was confident of getting a good response from the Muslim community in Putrajaya-based on last year's encouraging turnout. He also urged the organisers to liaise with the Ministry of Education to get permission to bring school students to participate in the programme. On the theme of the programme, Ehsan said it was accurate as love for the country was one of the branches of faith, adding that people could take the essence of the stories and the lessons contained in the Quran to contribute to the nation.
