Malaysian Medical Graduates Top Indonesian University

By Ahmad Fuad Yahya JAKARTA, March 10 (Bernama) -- Fifteen Malaysian students made the country proud when they were named top students among the latest batch of medical graduates from Universiti Udayana, Bali. They received the Cum Laude Awards, which is given to outstanding graduates with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 and above. They are Dr Lye Meng Hon (3.81), Dr Choo Ling Ling (3.79), Dr Yeap Xin Yi (3.78), Dr How Mei Yee (3.72), Dr Elisa Glory Manuel Jeyaraj (3.71), Dr Lee Wan Yin (3.70), Dr See Jia Yee (3.64), Dr Loh Soon Khang (3.63), Dr Tey Siam Eng (3.62), Dr Cheok Chia Chien (3.60), Dr Goh See Yun (3.60), Dr Muhammad Haniff Abdullah (3.59), Dr Ng Li Yun (3.59), Dr Amalarany Sachudanandan (3.59) and Dr Lai Siaw Ling (3.57). All of them are Public Service Department (PSD) students. The celebrated their success with 35 other medical graduates from Malaysia at a ceremony last Feb 23 where they all took their oath as medical doctors. At the function, Dr Muhammad Haniff, who is Malaysian Student Leader, was given the honour to give a speech on behalf of all the medical graduates. He described the success of the Malaysian students as proof that Malaysians could succeed anywhere. "The practical training in Bali taught us alot about the diverse culture and society, more so, with some of the patients were tourists from all parts of the world. It made the training more challenging," he said. -- BERNAMA
