Malaysian Parliament: Resolution To Condemn Israel Atrocities

KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Islamist political party, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) hopes that the resolution to condemn Israel’s atrocities on Palestine would be debated soon at the current Dewan Rakyat (Parliament) sitting. PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said PAS tabled the resolution Wednesday following the attacks by Israeli troops on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem since July 14, resulting in the death of two Israel soldiers and two Palestinian civilians. “These atrocities are the worse incursions. We submitted the resolution so that it could be debated and we condemn Israel’s actions. “We hope the resolution gets the support of all the members of Parliament, regardless of political party. If it had been tabled by others, we would have supported it,” he said at a press conference in Parliament Wednesday. Earlier, at a separate press conference, Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said all parties must urge Israel to stop the closure of the Al Aqsa Mosque and allow Muslims to pray there. -- BERNAMA
