Malaysian Queen Visits Singapore's Gardens By The Bay

From Muhammad Saufee Rosman SINGAPORE, Oct 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Queen Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah visited Singapore’s popular tourist destination, Gardens by the Bay, here Tuesday night. The King Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Queen are in the country for a state visit and arrived at approximately 10.50 am earlier on Tuesday. Accompanied by her daughter, Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah, the Queen arrived at the venue at 8 pm and was greeted by Gardens by the Bay Deputy Chief Executive Officer Lee Kok Fatt; Senior Director (Attraction Operations) Addison Goh and Senior Assistant Director (Conservatory Operations) Marziah Omar. She spent nearly two hours at the park’s popular attractions including the Flower Dome which boasts flowers and plants from the western part of South Africa, Western Australia, South America, the west coast of North America and the Mediterranean Basin. Tunku Azizah also spent some time getting acquainted and taking pictures with Malaysians and international tourists who were visiting the park. Gardens by the Bay is a horticultural park which was developed in 2007 to educate visitors on plants that are seldom seen by the public here including species that thrive in cool and temperate climates, in addition to those found in tropical forests. It was named World Building of the Year in 2012, Largest Glass Greenhouse (Flower Dome) in 2015 and awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2016, among others. -- BERNAMA
