Malaysia's Education Ministry To Collaborate With China In Enhancing STEM

FROM HAFIZAH KAMARUDDIN BEIJING, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's Education Ministry will collaborate with China in enhancing the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects in line with the government's move to produce more experts in the field for national interest. Its minister, Mahadzir Khalid said the ministry has inked a memorandum of understanding with China's Education Ministry on STEM and looking into the implementation of information communication technology as part of STEM. "This will ensure Malaysian students will be more interested to pursue their education in the science stream," he told Malaysian media when met after welcoming Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who arrived here for a six-day official visit to China. Enhancing the STEM initiative is one of 100 major initiatives in the PPPM 2013-2025 and the ministry's strategies to achieve the 60:40 Science/Technical:Arts Stream Policy Report. It will be implemented for secondary students especially for those in Form Four and above. --BERNAMA
