Malaysia's King Receives 27 Cakes For Upcoming Birthday

KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's King, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah was presented with 27 cakes on Thursday for his birthday which will be celebrated on Saturday. The cakes received included a 50kg fruit cake with an Istana Negara (National Palace) Jalan Duta concept from Federal Hotel International Group and one with a horse and carriage concept from Hotel Renaissance Kuala Lumpur, weighing 50 kg. His Majesty and Queen Tuanku Hajah Haminah spent about 30 minutes marvelling at the various masterpieces. The cake presentation is an annual event in conjunction with the Malaysia's King's birthday. Other hotels which presented the King with cakes in various shapes and flavours included Putrajaya Marriot Hotel & Spa, Maya Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Istana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, The Zon Regency Hotel by The Sea Johor Baharu, Grand Bluewave Hotel Shah Alam, Hilton Kuala Lumpur and Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur. Starwoods Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Villa Hotel & Suites Subang, Grand Dorsett Subang, Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur, Palace of The Golden Horses, Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Impiana KLCC Hotel, Hotel UiTM Shah Alam and YTL Hotels. Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur, Grand Millennium Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, Royale Bintang, Crowne Plaza Hotel, as well as the Putra World Trade Centre and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre also offered birhday cakes to the King. -- BERNAMA
