Maldives First Lady visits SCW headquarters

Manama, Oct. 6(BNA): The First Lady of Maldive Islands Fazna Ahmed, within the framework of her visit to the kingdom accompanying her husband, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has today visited the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) headquarters. SCW Secretary General Hala Al Ansari welcomed the Maldivian First Lady and praised growing relations and joint keenness on further expanding cooperation in all fields. The two sides discussed issues related to the advancement of women and Bahrain’s effort to promote equal opportunities and gender balance in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the qualitative achievements made by women in the Maldives at various levels. SCW Assistant Secretary-General Shaikha Deena bint Rashid Al Khalifa outlined Bahrain women’s gains and the establishment of the council as an advisory body to promote women’s empowerment and progress.
