Mass underwater wedding in Trang

TRANG, Feb 12 (TNA) – The Andaman coastal province of Trang holds the 22nd mass underwater wedding to mark the season of love on the Valentine’s Day. Trang governor, Siripat Patkul and the chairman of the provincial chamber of commerce Pichai Manasut on Monday welcomed 15 couples, attending this year’s underwater wedding programme. The activities are held to promote tourism as well as marriage and family life. They are divided for doing activities and photo shootings at the province’s landmarks and tourist sites such as the clock tower, the Kangtang train station, temples and a museum. A traditional wedding procession and the water pouring ceremony will be held later today to bless the couple's marriage. Tomorrow, eight couples will dive for eight metres near the emerald cave for the underwater marriage registration. (TNA)
