MCOT board chair to become new THAI president
BANGKOK, September 14 (TNA) - Outgoing board chairman of MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT) Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuwan will soon become the new president of Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier.
Chokechai Panyayong, acting THAI president, told journalists after the board meeting on Friday that the THAI board endorsed the nomination from a selection committee which has earlier picked Dr. Sorajak, and that a remuneration negotiation will take two weeks and Dr. Sorajak's contract will be signed next month.
The selection committee, meanwhile, reported that Dr. Sorajak scored more than 80 per cent and passed criteria for the THAI top job.
Dr. Sorajak will be the 16th president of the national airline, succeeding Piyasvasti Amranand, whom the THAI board dismissed last May. (TNA)
