MCOT receives prestige award
BANGKOK, October 6 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm running Modernine TV, Modern Radio Networks and Thai News Agency (TNA), has received a prestige award for outstanding corporate in 2012 from the Ministry of Finance’s State Enterprise Policy Office.
The MCOT board's vice chair, Thongthong Chantharangsu, received the ‘Best Organisation Development Award’, bestowed on Friday by Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong, on behalf of the company and all its personnel.
Premkamon Tinnakorn Na Ayutthaya, an MCOT board member who was acting MCOT president recently, acknowledged that MCOT has constantly developed its information technology (IT) and has expanded its media networks nationwide; while it is also fully prepared for switching its television transmission to the advance digital system.
MCOT was among the eight outstanding corporate prize plus two consolation prizes recipients, which include the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd.
Awards given by the State Enterprise Policy Office are aimed at strengthening Thai state enterprises ahead of the formation of the ASEAN Community (AC) by 2015. (TNA)
