Measures against football gambling
BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) – The police take precautions against football betting ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Russia from June 14 – July 15.
Deputy national Police Chief, Pol General Chalermkiart Sriworakhan said that the police have cracked down on football gambling and are worried about a vulnerable group of students. Football gambling can lead to crimes and pose danger to the society.
He ordered all agencies and asked public members to tip off any irregularities or suspicious activities, which may involve gambling including online betting.
Under the measure, the football gambling suppression center is established to work with the Office of The Basic Education Commission to prevent gambling among students.
Any clues and tip-offs can be directly given to the police at hotline 191 and 1599 around the clock. (TNA)
