Media role in boosting national unity, raising awareness praised

Manama, Mar. 12 (BNA): The Minister of Information Affairs Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi has affirmed the government’s commitment to provide information transparently, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He stressed that the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) has set an international model in handling challenges and received an international praise for its effectiveness. The Information Minister hailed the tremendous national efforts to serve citizens and expats and curb the spread of the virus. He lauded the efforts of the legislative branch, Bahrain Defence Force, the Interior Ministry, the Health Ministry, the Transportation and Telecommunication Ministry and the endowments directorates to maintain national safety, stressing that those efforts are highly appreciated by the Bahraini people and the whole world. The Information Minister called on all people in Bahrain to get information from official media sources and avoid being misled by rumours and inaccurate information circulating on the social media websites. He commended the responsible national role played by the press and media institutions to provide people with first-hand update out of their national responsibility to provide accurate and trusted information, boost national unity and promote awareness of global challenges.
