Milad Tower to offer Persian handicrafts to visitors from NAM summit
TEHRAN,Aug.23(MNA) – Tehran’s Milad Tower has set up several pavilions to offer a selection of Persian handicrafts to visitors from the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit.
Over 500 different products of the best quality will be offered to interested visitors along with catalogues and CDs in English, Deputy Director of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) Mohammad-Hassan Salehi-Maram told on Wednesday.
Several guides are also available at different stands to provide visitors with detailed information on each product, he said.
In addition, an exhibition of rare copies of Persian handicrafts will also open to help introduce Iranian handicrafts to foreign visitors via the catalogues available in four different languages, he said.
Several meetings have also been arranged with officials from participating countries on the sidelines to discuss exporting of Persian handicrafts, Salehi-Maram said.
The program has been organized by the Iranian Handicrafts Union and Tehran Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts.
Tehran will be playing host to the 16th NAM summit from August 27 to September 1, which is expected to bring together more than 100 countries.
