Military equipment: preparation for parade
Astana, August 20 2009, Khabar – Over 120 pieces of different equipment and armament will take part in military parade that is to be held in Astana on August 30. Missile mountings of salvo fire “Grad”, “Uragan”, “Smerch” and modern anti-aircraft complexes will present power of Kazakhstani power. Military auto park under Astana is overfilled as all equipment participating into parade is kept here. Officers and military men who signed contracts, operate them. There are no soldiers of service for a fixed period here because long-term preparation is necessary to work with modern weapons. 120 pieces of different equipment and armament were brought from different parts of Kazakhstan. On Constitution Day, infantry, missile and anti-aircraft forces will demonstrate their power.
Senior lieutenant Andrey Goncharov has been operating anti-aircraft complex “C-300” and he learnt for one year to take this post.
Andrey Goncharov, driver of anti-aircraft complex “C-300”:
- There are many specific technical nuances in comparison with usual machines. But after getting acquainted closer with technics and working with it for a longer time, one comprehends it is not so difficult as it seems to be.
“C-300” is a pride of anti-aircraft defense of country and they will close parade of military equipment on the square “Kazak Yeli” after aviation.
“Land-rovers”, “Hammers”, armored troop-carriers and howitzers, jet systems of salvo fire “Grad”, “Uragan”, “Smerch” and modern anti-aircraft complex “U” (only Russia and Kazakhstan among CIS states obtain it) will present power of Kazakhstani power. 15 types of combatant equipment will take part into the parade.
Gennady Nosovskiy, deputy chairman of committee of leaders of headquarters:
- It is just combatant equipment and we have only two parade machines “Chaika”. The other equipment was brought from military units and even from the training grounds and here it obtains so called parade look.
The military men repair, examine and paint the army equipment every day for several hours after training on the square.
