Minister: Commemoration Day opportunity to renew pride in fallen servicemen

Manama, Dec. 16 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has stressed that the Commemoration Day is a cherished national occasion through which Bahrain’s King, government and people renew their pride in the sacrifices made by fallen services who lost their lives while defending religion, the Right and their Arab identity, as well as the kingdom’s security, stability, unity and territorial integrity.
The minister extended sincerest thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his kind initiative to allocate every December 17 to observe the Commemoration Day, alongside the kingdom’s celebrations of glorious national days.
The kind royal gesture reflects HM the King’s appreciation of Bahrain’s fallen servicemen whose sacrifices will remain engraved in the fields of justice, glory and dignity, and will always be beacons that guide the people of Bahrain and its future generations to defend the homeland and its development and civilisational accomplishments, as well as to safeguard the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council and champion the Arab and Islamic rights, he said.
Al-Romaihi praised the keenness of all segments of the Bahraini society to rally behind the leadership in honouring the late servicemen of the security and military forces in recognition of their sacrifices and dedication in serving the nation, spreading safety and tranquility, protecting public and private property, carrying out their patriotic and moral duties within the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, and countering hostile schemes aimed at undermining the security of the kingdom and that of the Arab and Islamic nations.
The Commemoration Day is also an opportunity to extend thanks and appreciation to the relatives of the fallen servicemen for their patience and fortitude, he said.
The minister stressed the keenness of media outlets to highlight the patriotic and human values so as to instill them in the minds of youngsters and youth and consolidate the culture of redemption, giving and loyalty to the nation among them.
